Kelly Meyers has been involved in the world of music
and dance for over 50 years! She has studied dance since she was 5
years old, and has an extensive background in training, performing, teaching,
and choreographing dance. Her many years of teaching music and dance to young
children have made her a highly skilled educator. She became owner and
director of Tustin Dance Center in July 2013, where she continues to teach
ballet, pointe and Kindermusik.
Music Training
Kelly's vast experience includes studying and
performing piano; training, performing, choreographing and teaching ballet
and other forms of dance; directing a local pre-school music department;
directing a local performance of The Nutcracker Ballet. Through her
creativity, training, teaching, and love of the arts and of people, Kelly has
positively touched the lives of hundreds of children and their families for
many years in the Tustin/Irvine area.
Kelly has studied piano since the age of 10, receiving
her High School Diploma in piano from the National Music Guild. In high
school, she was a member of the madrigal choir group. She also performed with
the Young Americans in Diamond Bar, California. Later she held the position
as music coordinator for two years at a local preschool.
Teacher of Kindermusik
As a licensed Kindermusik educator for the last 20
years, Kelly is able to express her love of music and dance in a positive
manner in order to jumpstart young children into a lifelong appreciation of
the arts. Through her developmental program, she meets the individual needs
of all the children she is privileged to work with.
Kelly earned her certification with Kindermusik
International and is a licensed educator. As a precursor to Kindermusik,
Kelly started and taught a Mommy and Me program in which parents and
children, similar to Kindermusik, participated in creative songs and
movements written and choreographed by Kelly.
Personal
Kelly attended the UCLA Department of Dance and
ultimately earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from the Department of Dance
from the University of California, Irvine. She is a graduate of Foothill High
School in Santa Ana, California.
Kelly is a mother of two and was born and raised in
Tustin, California.
